In August 2011 Marlow Rowing Club suffered a devastating fire which almost entirely destroyed their historic 19th century wooden boathouse.
By the Summer of 2014 it will be replaced by a new state of the art water sports hub providing a world class community sports facility for rowing and sculling, para-rowing, canoeing, para-canoeing, triathlon and open water swimming.
The sports clubs involved are Marlow Rowing Club, Marlow Canoe Club, Longridge Canoe Club, High Wycombe Triathlon Club and Henley Open Water Swimming Club. These five have now launched an appeal to secure the remaining funds needed to enable us to build this fantastic facility.
The total cost of the project is £2.35m. A grant of one million pounds has been secured from Sport England. Approx £950,000 has already been raised leaving the target of our appeal as £400,000.
